The station opened on 7th December 1881 by the Lydd Railway Company. It closed to passengers in 1967 but continued to be open for freight.
Opened as a standard gauge single track line from Appledore to Dungeness with stops at Lydd and Brookland. On 7th November a fire damaged the remaining building.
7th December 1881 - Opened as Lydd Station
4th July 1937 - Renamed Lydd Town
6th March 1967 - Closed to passengers
4th October 1971 - Closed to regular goods traffic.
