Cadogan Hall is a concert hall located on Sloane Terrace in Chelsea. The resident ensemble is the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The building is a former Church of Christ, Scientist Church, completed in 1907 in a Byzantine Revival style by architect Robert Fellowes Chisholm who also designed the Napier Museum in Kerala, India. The stained glass is by Danish sculptor Arlid Rosenkrantz. It is a Grade II listed building.
In 1996 the building was disused after the congregation dramatically reduced and the building was purchased by Harrods Owner Mohammed Al-Fayed. He had planned to turn the building into a luxury house but it’s Grade II listing didn’t allow for that. The building was purchased in 2000 by Cadogan Estates and was refurbished in 2004.
The Church of Christ, Scientist - was founded in 1879 in Boston Massachusetts by Mary Baker Eddy. It is classed as a Christian New Religious Movement with a Nontrinitarianism orientation.
