Catching up on last years gigs...
Bonx born Lord Finesse was a Hip Hop act I always liked and respected but was never deeply into. I peaked with him around Funky Technician (1990) and Return of the Funky Man (1992) although if I pause and clear my head I can hear "I Like My Girls With A Boom" clear as day - that bassline!
Having said that when the chance to see him at The Jazz Cafe came up I wasn't going to pass as he had a rep as a solid performer and great live act. I wasn't disappointed.
